meshscal

meshscal multiplies the number of elements in every region of every part by one whole number.

Syntax

meshscal n
  • n: a positive whole number. Without the command the scale is 1.

What it does

When James reads each block or cylinder, it multiplies the element count of every region of its index lists by n. The coordinates do not change, so meshscal 2 gives the same shape with twice as many elements along every edge.

When James applies it

When it is read, before any part. It sets a session value that every later part uses. It is legal in the Control and Merge phases.

Rules James adds

  • meshscal comes before every part. Once a part has ended, James refuses the command with E0409. Inside an open part the phase check refuses it first, with E0412.

Diagnostics

  • E0409: a part has already begun.
  • E0414: the scale is not a positive whole number.

Example

The script tests/corpus/114-meshscal-scales-part/input.tg, which make test runs:

meshscal 2
block 1 2;1 2;1 2;0 1;0 1;0 1;
endpart

The part has one element in each direction as written. The IR shows each index list as [1 3]: two elements in each direction.
